Iris Festival Corn Hole (Bean Bag) Toss Tournament
Sponsored by:

The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership and Keep Greene Beautiful are teaming up to host a cornhole tournament sponsored by Farm Credit Services in conjunction with the 16TH Annual Iris Festival on Saturday, May 15, in historic downtown Greeneville.

The tournament will take place in the festival area beginning at 10:00 a.m.   The cost to enter is only $20 per team (team members must be 12 years of age or older) and the winner will receive a cash prize of $200 and a trophy.

The Cornhole event, better known as the bean bag toss, is a game played with two cornhole platforms and eight corn bags.  A popular pastime in places such as Ohio and Kentucky, cornhole is a game that can be played by anyone who can toss a corn bag 30 feet.

"We at Farm Credit Services are excited about sponsoring the Cornhole Tournament as part of the Iris Festival weekend," stated Ronnie Sartain and Brent Pippin of Farm Credit Services. "We have customers who grow corn, feed corn to their livestock, and sell some of Greene County’s best sweet corn. It seems only natural we should be involved in folks ‘tossin’ corn.  We are sure it will be a fun event for participants and spectators alike."

For more information on the Cornhole Tournament or to get your application, go by the Farm Credit Services office at 100 Nevada Avenue or the Greene County Partnership office at 115 Academy Street, or you may click here, print off an application and mail it in along with your $20 entry fee to the Partnership.
