The Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department offers varied activities and sports for youth as well as adults. Sports offered for children up to age 16 include baseball, softball, and basketball. Adult sports include softball and volleyball. Annual special events conducted throughout the year include "Spring Fling", "Home for the Fourth" 4th of July, "Christmas in the Park", a Halloween dance, a Thanksgiving essay contest, and a Christmas coloring contest. All of these event are designed and coordinated for the citizens of Greeneville to show that the Parks and Recreation Department consists of more than just sports programs.

Greeneville Skate Park is located at Hardin Park, at the corner of Crescent Street and the Old Asheville Highway. The 10,000 square-foot park features challenging obstacles such as stairs, ledges, ramps, rails, boxes and a bowl area. The design appeals to every style of skater and all skill levels, from beginner to the most advanced. Registration for the park is free, as well as admittance. Users will be given an identification card bearing the Skate Park Organization's logo "Live...Love...SKATE!"
